General Questions

What are the exact dates of the ski trip to the Chilean altiplano?

The best time to go due to the stability of the weather is from April 10, the length of the trip can be as long as you want, it is important to have a minimum duration of 10 days to have enough time for our body to acclimatize to the altitude in a good way.

What level of ski/snowboarding ability is required to participate in the trip?

You need to know how to randonee at an intermediate/advanced level. You need to have a good level of off-piste skiing as all the skiing will be off-piste. We can take the trip super relaxed, enjoy the scenery and not obsess about the summits ! just walk as far as we can and enjoy gliding with our skis in a completely new scenery overlooking the desert, it is a unique experience.

What is the weather like in the region during the dates of the trip?

April typically brings warm weather with abundant sun and high temperatures. In Putre, the local town, daytime temperatures can reach around 20 degrees Celsius on sunny days. However, as we ascend in altitude, the climate becomes cooler. Camping in the mountains offers a completely different experience, with high mountain temperatures dropping to as low as -5 degrees Celsius.
